RSVP Information: Please email Meta at mtshiteya@buffalozoo.org to confirm your attendance!
We’re heading to volunteer at the Buffalo Zoo! We’ll be volunteering on Saturday, October 12th, from 10 AM to 12 PM, helping to clean up litter and leaves around the Zoo. Please see below for important event details.
Entrance/Parking:
You can enter through Gate #1, located at Colvin and Amherst (map attached). Please drive into Delaware Park from Colvin and Amherst, and continue past the barrier where parking is available. After parking, walk up to Gate #1, located next to the flagpole. Buzz the intercom for the switchboard operator to let you in. We will meet at the switchboard office, located through the double green doors.
Clothing:
Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
Tools/Supplies Provided:
The Zoo will provide gloves, bags, and any necessary tools for picking up litter and leaves. You don’t need to bring any supplies unless you’d prefer to use your own.
Weather:
Please be prepared for the weather on the day of the event. In case of light rain, we’ll still proceed with the cleanup, so bringing a rain jacket might be a good idea. If the weather is severe, we’ll notify you of any changes or cancellations in advance.
Restrooms/Facilities:
Restrooms will be available near our meeting point at the switchboard office.
Contact Information:
If you need any assistance on the day of the event or are running late, feel free to call/text Meta at (716) 275-8061.
